A friend shares and you share back
A friend holds you when you cry
A friend helps uplift you when you want to die
A friend takes you as you are
A friend will help you mend a scar
A friend laughs with you in joy
A friend won't treat you like a toy
A friend knows when you're in need
A friend helps sow sound emotional seed
A friend reads you like a book
A friend never takes a second look
A friend tells you the truth
A friend never lies and acts uncouth
A friend knows when you are down
A friend at those times will hang around
A friend takes you at your worst
A friend helps put you at your best
A friend will be full time
not when it's convenient and part time

All these things to me
Are what a friend should be!
